"We were one of the pioneers".

Batteriexperten, now an integrated part of Spares Nordic and the Clas Ohlson Group, is expanding its presence in Europe. In connection with the company's 20th anniversary in 2026, the e-commerce platform is being launched in two new markets: Poland and the Netherlands. Earlier this year, operations were also established in Finland.

The company states that the expansion is part of a long-term strategy in markets with growing demand. A contributing factor to the growth is the EU's "Right to repair" initiative, which promotes a shift where consumers are increasingly choosing to replace batteries in existing electronics instead of buying new ones.

We were one of the pioneers in e-commerce for batteries in the Nordics. Now, 20 years later, we are taking the next big step out into Europe. With the establishments in Poland and the Netherlands, we reach millions of new customers, says Talal Alshammari, CEO of Spares Nordic.

The e-retailer currently offers a range of over 275,000 products. With the latest establishments, operations are now conducted in a total of seven European markets: Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland. Looking at historical volume, the company has reached over 1.1 million customers and handled nearly 1.65 million delivered packages since its inception.

Integrated into Billion-Dollar Build

Batteriexperten was founded in 2006 as an independent niche player but has undergone structural changes in recent years. At the end of 2024, Batteriexperten Europe AB was merged into sister company Spares Nordic AB with the aim of creating economies of scale and streamlining the administrative structure.

The merged Spares Nordic AB, where Clas Ohlson is the majority owner, reported a turnover of 758.2 million Swedish krona with an operating profit of 46.8 million Swedish krona during the broken financial year 2024/2025. The result was driven, among other things, by a stabilized supply chain and normalized freight rates from Asia.

According to the company's latest figures, Batteriexperten's specific business has nearly doubled its turnover since 2020. The company announces that during the ongoing anniversary year, it will continue to invest in logistics, range and own brands.
