"From small to large".

E-commerce is constantly changing, and for the electronics player Conrad, the solution was to think anew. Instead of relying on private customers, the company, based in Malmö, has steered its business towards B2B. By delivering components to industries with growing needs, the company has managed to navigate past a weak consumer market and secured strong economic development.

When demand from private individuals did not reach the set goals, the management therefore chose to quickly readjust. The strategy became to offer products to more stable sectors. By actively seeking out and building business with actors in defense, infrastructure and medical technology, the company found a way forward.

The focus on these specific B2B segments proved to be exactly what was needed to compensate for the loss on the consumer side.

At the same time, a review of the organization was carried out where operations were centralized, leading to a reduction in the workforce from eleven to ten employees.

The turnover growth during 2025 was a direct result of this strategic shift and was driven by orders from small to large companies, the company writes in the recent annual report.

Million-Boost on the Bottom Line

The new focus is also reflected in the financial statements. Turnover for Conrad Elektronik Norden amounted to SEK 164.6 million, an increase of 8 percent compared to the previous year.

The development is even clearer when looking at operating profit. The company reports an operating profit of SEK 8.4 million, compared to SEK 2.3 million the year before. This corresponds to an increase of almost 260 percent.

According to the report, it is precisely the new B2B deals that have driven the development, but a stronger Swedish krona against the euro also contributed to lower purchasing costs. Reduced personnel costs also helped to boost the figures.

The Plan for the European Market

The progress of the Swedish operation is in line with the parent company Conrad Electronic SE's overall plan. The vision is to "build Europe's leading platform for technical procurement", with a clear focus on B2B.

Going forward, the plan is to continue to gain more market share in Sweden.

Future B2B growth is expected to be good as the Swedish economy improves and the krona strengthens, leading to increased order intake, the company writes.
