Apohem Exceeds One Billion in Turnover and Reaches Break Even

CEO's promise fulfilled.

It was a stated dream goal from CEO Gustav Hasselgren. Now it is clear that the e-commerce company Apohem has passed the milestone and, for the first time, broken the SEK 1 billion turnover mark. By moving into a logistics facility six times larger, the online pharmacy has created the space needed to grow beyond the rest of the industry, and the investments now appear to be leading the business towards black figures. To manage increasing orders and meet demand, Apohem realized that its existing 4,000 square meter warehouse in Årsta was no longer sufficient. The solution was a move to Kallhäll, where the e-commerce company established a new 25,000 square meter facility. The new warehouse also included a custom-built, soundproof building for the company's pharmacists. The goal was to create a work environment that attracts the right talent as volumes increase.

2025 was a transformative year for Apohem. The move to Kallhäll gives us the conditions to grow without bottlenecks for several years. It went according to plan and after the ramp-up, we have good development of productivity," Gustav Hasselgren told the website.

Specifically, Apohem's turnover landed at SEK 1.09 billion in 2025, an increase of 22 percent.

The outcome was as planned and driven by higher volume and increased average receipt. Pharmacy retail is still a growing market but also one with tough competition," says the CEO.

However, growth and investments in e-commerce logistics have come at a cost. With owners Axfood and Novax behind it, Apohem has been operating at a loss since its launch in 2019, with a cumulative loss of SEK 583.5 million. Operating profit for 2024 landed at SEK -99 million, a result that then improved to SEK -87 million in 2025.

Now, however, volumes and warehouse efficiency are beginning to leave their mark on the accounting. Already during the first initial quarter of the year, the e-commerce company reported a zero result and thus reached break even.
