Anyone browsing Aroniabutiken today will not be greeted with products. Instead, the screen is completely black. A short white text in the middle of the window explains that the online store is paused and that they are not accepting any orders.
The sister store Golden Green is still accessible, but over the products in the range – such as berry powder, tablets and shower filters – it states that the goods are out of stock.
The company behind the e-retailers is Golden Green Sweden AB. With a warehouse located in Jordbro south of Stockholm, they have sold health food and environmental products, and since its inception in 2018, the company has had over 6,000 buyers.
At the end of April, the company submitted its own application for bankruptcy to the district court. On April 29, the decision was approved, and lawyer Anders Nilsson has taken over as bankruptcy trustee.
Sales Grew But Profits Shrank
Looking at the company's annual accounts for 2024 (which is the latest available), it is clear that revenue grew. Turnover landed at SEK 2.7 million, an increase of almost 23 percent from the previous year.
But despite revenues moving upwards, the company's profitability decreased.
In 2024, operating profit fell to around SEK 3,500, compared to around SEK 77,800 the previous year. Costs for external expenses and purchases of goods left little on the bottom line.
Now the business is closed, and visitors are only met with closed digital doors.
