Adlibris has operated e-commerce in Norway for 19 years. Now, the company has announced via customer emails and on its website that the operation in the country will be discontinued. A sale of the Norwegian warehouse is underway until the closure.

Ola Toresten, CEO of Adlibris, confirms the closure to Bok365 and explains the underlying reason:

The reason for the decision is challenges with profitability in the Norwegian market. At the same time, we would like to extend a warm thank you to both Norwegian publishers, partners and all customers in Norway for a good collaboration over many years, he tells the site.

According to the company, the discontinuation should not affect any jobs.

Customer Accounts Will Be Closed

In connection with the closure of the online store on May 25, the accounts of Norwegian customers will be deactivated. Adlibris therefore urges customers who have purchased e-books and audiobooks to download them to their own devices in good time to avoid losing access.

Regarding returns and complaints, Adlibris states that these processes will continue according to Norwegian consumer law, even after the website has closed. Customers who have valid gift cards remaining will be offered a refund.
