During the first quarter of the year, second-hand sales of furniture and home decor decreased by 22 percent, according to new statistics from Swedish Trade Federation's indicator. Shortly after the industry figures were published, Cervera announced that they are now stepping up their work in circular consumption.
The company announced today that they are relaunching the platform Cervera Pre Loved. The service functions as a peer-to-peer marketplace where private individuals can buy and sell products within kitchen, serving and decor. Users are encouraged to sell goods from Cervera's range or equivalent products of similar standard.
With Pre Loved, we want to make it easier for our customers to give their products a new life and contribute to a more circular consumption, says Annelie Söderberg, Head of Commercial at Cervera.
In addition to sales between private individuals, the company states that they themselves will offer a handpicked range of vintage products on the platform to complement the regular assortment.
Collaboration with Established Tech Partner
The technical solution behind the platform has been developed in collaboration with Revive Retail, a company that has previously developed similar second-hand services for e-commerce companies such as Lindex and Bubbleroom. Cathrin Fogelberg, co-founder of Revive Retail, comments on the launch:
Cervera's products are very popular second hand, so entering this segment with them is very fun. We are impressed by Cervera's pace and implementation power, says Cathrin Fogelberg.
