During the period from January to March 2026, Apoteket's net sales amounted to SEK 7,514 million, an increase from SEK 6,424 million during the corresponding period of the previous year. Operating profit increased to SEK 128 million compared to SEK 119 million the year before.

CEO Rasmus Nerman describes the development:

With the first months of the year in the books, we can state that Apoteket is stable in an uncertain world. The year starts with strong growth, improved results and progress in all areas of operation.

A large part of the report's focus is on the digital business and changing customer behavior. It is stated that a continued channel shift is taking place where Apoteket's e-commerce continues to grow. However, no exact e-commerce figure is given for the period.

This shift to e-commerce does, however, entail market risks. Apoteket notes that the impact of the economic situation on purchasing power, combined with the channel shift to e-commerce, poses a risk of increased price pressure on the pharmacy market. To manage margins, the company continuously reviews costs by negotiating purchase prices and streamlining its working methods and systems.

More Environmentally Friendly E-commerce Warehouse

On the e-commerce front, the logistical sustainability work is also highlighted. Apoteket's e-commerce warehouse in Eskilstuna has received a higher sustainability rating after a recertification according to BREEAM In Use, a system for assessing the environmental performance of buildings. The increased rating is mainly explained by improvements in resource efficiency and waste management. One of the more extensive investments in the warehouse is the integration of solar cells on the roof.

In addition to sales channels, the company continues to develop digital services. During the first quarter of the year, the app "Menopause" was launched.

The total sales increase during the quarter is explained, in addition to e-commerce, by higher sales in the physical stores and by a new agreement with Region Skåne, which came into force in September 2025. Apoteket today offers its services and products via e-commerce and through its 398 physical pharmacies.
