The business model is based on Getgifted functioning as a marketplace for digital gift cards. The company operates a platform where merchants can connect to sell gift cards directly to end customers via an app. So, instead of e-commerce companies building and maintaining their own gift card systems, they are integrated into the company's network and handle sales through their interface.
Some e-commerce companies currently connected include Ikea, Zalando, Webhallen, Mathem, CDON, Åhléns and Clas Ohlson.
In addition to its operations in Sweden, the company also owns and operates the British subsidiary Gifted Technologies (Pvt) Ltd.
