He Is Pointed Out For Key Role At Desenio: "A Natural Choice"

Fills the gap.

After a period of economic challenges, restructuring and a recent departure, e-commerce retailer Desenio is now making its next move in the boardroom. The poster giant is working to turn the red numbers around and is now proposing a new external name to fill the vacant seat. The person, brought in with a background from the European tech and travel sectors, is intended to help the company navigate forward in the e-commerce retailer's 37 markets.

In January, the former Chief Technology Officer and board member chose to leave their position at Desenio Group. Yesterday, the e-commerce retailer first announced that Konark Modi would replace and assume the role of new board member with immediate effect, but the company shortly thereafter issued a correction. Konark Modi has not yet taken his seat on the board as previously communicated, but is instead proposed for election at the annual general meeting on June 9, 2026.

He comes with a background in e-commerce and technology, including previous leadership positions at search engine company Cliqz, which now belongs to Brave, and travel operator Holidaycheck. With a future formal election, the e-commerce retailer's board will once again have four external members.

We are pleased to propose Konark Modi to the board of Desenio Group. His technical expertise and proven ability to create value in e-commerce companies made him a natural choice, says Chairman of the Board Martin Weiss.

Financial Transformation

Desenio, which sells posters under the brands Desenio and Posterstore in 37 markets, is undergoing a transformation led by CEO Erik Flinck. According to the latest reported figures, from the period January to September 2025, revenue amounted to SEK 520.4 million and operating profit landed at SEK -248.8 million.

The company has recently been working to launch a new technical platform and restructure its marketing to turn the trend around.

Konark Modi sees a changing market ahead, where digitalization fundamentally redraws the rules of the game for e-commerce.

The way we work, discover and shop is changing. Technology is not only changing consumer behavior, but also how companies build, make decisions and compete. Desenio has created a brand with a clear aesthetic identity and a customer base in several markets. I am pleased to be proposed to the board and look forward to supporting the company in strengthening demand and driving the business efficiently as it now enters the next growth phase, says Konark Modi.
