Customers Without Goods - Now the Dalarna Company is Threatened with Bankruptcy

Millions in debt to the Swedish Enforcement Authority.

The e-commerce company Dalarna Design of Sweden AB is being petitioned for bankruptcy by the Swedish Tax Agency. This is reported by Falukuriren. The company has accumulated unpaid debts, shut down its online store and received many complaints from buyers who have not received their deliveries.

The company, which has been trading in souvenirs from Dalarna, had a debt balance with the Swedish Enforcement Authority (Kronofogden) of SEK 1.3 million in March 2026. Of this, approximately SEK 899,000 consists of general claims, which largely relate to unpaid taxes and fees on the company's tax account.

The remaining approximately SEK 400,000 relates to individual claims. Among the creditors are several well-known actors that the e-commerce company has used for its logistics and payment, such as Postnord, DHL and Collectum.

Closed Site and Complaints

At the end of November 2025, the company's e-commerce site dalarnadesign.se was shut down. This happened in connection with around 40 reports being submitted to the Swedish Consumer Agency (Konsumentverket) and a further 17 reports to the General Complaints Board (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden).

In their reports and posts on social media and review sites, customers have described how they have transferred money believing they would receive goods, but have since neither seen the products nor received a response from customer service.

Previously, the e-commerce company also had physical stores in Falun and Mora, with the store in Falun closing in 2024.

Financial Development and Bankruptcy Application

Now, the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) has submitted a bankruptcy application against the company. But this is not the first time the company has been in legal trouble. The history at the Swedish Companies Registration Office (Bolagsverket) shows that bankruptcy applications were submitted both in the autumn of 2024 and in the spring of 2025, but these were later withdrawn.

The company has also had temporary tax deferrals corresponding to 3.2 percent of turnover, which have now expired.

A look at the company's latest annual report, which extends to the end of April 2024, shows a turnover of SEK 9.2 million. Operating profit amounted to approximately SEK 262,600. Already in this report, CEO Anders Ferm stated that the business was run with personal liability as the equity had been depleted.
