The collaboration means that 23 of Coop's grocery stores in the region will have their goods delivered by electric trucks. The transition is enabled by Einride's logistics system, which combines electric vehicles and charging infrastructure with the company's AI-powered planning platform, Saga AI.
By analyzing customer data and operational information, the system makes it possible to manage the transport need with fewer vehicles and lower energy consumption.
Einride CEO Roozbeh Charli describes the region's transformation as proof of how the company can integrate hardware, software and infrastructure in a way that increases the efficiency of customers' vehicle fleets. He believes that the platform's ability to optimize transport is central to the development.
Fossil-Free Goals
The logistics initiative in Uppland covers a total distance of just over 659,000 kilometers each year. By switching from diesel to electricity, the operation is expected to cut its carbon dioxide emissions by around 912 tons annually.
According to calculations, this corresponds to the emissions from 596 gasoline cars. The full-scale rollout of the system is expected to be completed during the first half of 2026, which is in line with Coop's goal of achieving completely fossil-free transport by 2030.
At Coop, we believe that every delivery can make a difference for our customers and the local community. By partnering with Einride, we are taking a step towards reducing our climate footprint and showing that climate-smart logistics can go hand in hand with reliable food deliveries, says Peter Rosendahl, Head of Transport at Coop Sweden.
Future Stock Listing
The Swedish technology company Einride currently has just over 30 corporate customers in seven different countries. The expected annual recurring revenue from the company's signed contracts is $92 million.
At the same time, there is a potential of $800 million in long-term revenue based on joint business plans with customers. The company also plans to be listed on the stock exchange via a merger with the acquisition company Legato during the first half of 2026.
