In the autumn of 2025, it became clear that American Ebay is acquiring the Norwegian platform Tise, a deal in which, among others, the investment company VNV Global sold its stake for 103 million Swedish kronor. Now, the e-commerce giant's presence is beginning to be noticed in practice by users.
The recently updated terms of use from February 2026 state that the company behind the accounts is changing to Ebay GmbH. According to previous statements from the platform's CEO, accounts and listings will function as before, something the company now reiterates in its communication as the ownership change becomes official to users.
Opens Up For International E-commerce
The updated agreement is not just a legal adjustment, but paves the way for an international e-commerce experience.
By adapting the platform, Tise plans to connect buyers and sellers across national borders. In an informational email sent to members, the team behind the service describes how the change is expected to affect the range and customer base in the future.
Simply put, this helps us open up Tise for cross-border trade in the future, the company writes.
However, there is a lack of concrete details about whether Swedish users will soon be able to trade with, for example, German users, now that the company behind the account is Ebay GmbH, globally, or whether it is primarily about simplifying trade between the Nordic countries in the first stage.
Part Of A Global Network
Tise was founded in Norway and grew to become a popular marketplace in the Nordics. By building an engaged customer base, the app quickly attracted investors and reached 650,000 active users per month as early as 2020.
Ebay's stated goal with the acquisition was to reach a younger audience and build on the network that Tise has created. Now, the app is taking the next step in its development to allow this audience to trade second-hand goods across national borders.
